Bhubaneswar: In a remarkable step, the Odisha Government has decided to extend the class duration of three major subjects – English, Mathematics and Science in schools.
This has been informed by School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash here on Tuesday.
The class duration of these three subjects has been extended from existing 45 minutes to one-and-a-half hours.
The step has been taken in the wake of poor exam results by school students in the three major subjects.
The duration of class duration for other subjects will be of 45 minutes, as usual, the S&ME minister added.
He also said that special teaching in English will be imparted by taking up a school as a pilot project in every district. Later on, it will be expanded to the every block .
