Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced that the State Government would provide relief for 15 days to the people of five districts affected by the flood.
After conducting an aerial survey of the flood-hit areas, the Chief Minister announced 15 days of relief for flood-affected people of Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts.
The people in the flood-affected areas in the districts of Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Boudh and Angul will receive relief for seven days.
The Chief Minister conducted the aerial survey of Luna River and the islands of Chitrotpala river in Kendrapara district, Mahanidi’s Paika river, Kujang, Naugaon of Jagatsinghpur district and Gop, Nimapada, Astarang, Delang, Pipili, Kanas in Puri district and took stock of the flood situation.
Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian accompanied the Chief Minister during the survey.
The Chief Minister ordered to expedite the provision of relief and cooked food, health care, and drinking water supply in the affected areas.
The CM also asked to provide necessary fodder and veterinary treatment to the affected cattle/livestock.
He has also asked concerned district administrations to assess the damage within seven days of receding of water and provide assistance within 15 days of damage assessment.
