Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday approved two in-stream storage structures for Balangir district and sanctioned Rs 296.50 crore for the projects.
The projects are Sikuan/ Siletkani In-stream Storage Structure on Sunagada river and Kutasingha In-stream Storage Structure on Anga river. The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 49 crore for Sikuan project and Rs 247.50 core for Kutasingha project.
It is worth noting that on the directions of the Chief Minister, 5T Chairman VK Pandian had visited Balangir district and received the proposals from the people for various projects. The Chief Minister has approved these two projects as per the proposal of the people.
The projects will benefit the people of four blocks. Along with the increase in groundwater level, drinking water projects, fish farming and animal husbandry will get major boost from the projects.
While the people of Deogaon and Balangir blocks will be benefited from the Sikuan project, the people of Dunguripali and Agalpur blocks will be benefited from the Kutasingha project, as per a press release issued by the CMO.
