Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated the state-run SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack on achieving100th bone marrow transplantation (BMT) free of cost.
The Chief Minister said that quality and affordable healthcare for the needy continues to be priority for Odisha.

The SCBMCH has become the first state government-run hospital in the country and second in Eastern India after Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata to have conducted 100 bone marrow transplants.
The BMT, an expensive a medical procedure, infuses healthy blood-forming stem cells to replace damaged or diseased bone marrow.
