CM Dedicates 7 Electricity Projects worth Rs 450 Cr to People

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to further strengthen the energy sector, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today dedicated seven energy projects worth Rs 450 crore to the people of the State.

The Chief Minister dedicated six high voltage grid sub stations in the districts of Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Khordha, and a 220 Kv Bolangir-Kesinga Double Circuit Transmission Line.

The Odisha Government has spent Rs 450 crore for these seven projects.

The projects will immensely benefit the farmers, students and mothers in Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Sambalpur and Khordha districts. The small-scale industries and irrigation projects would also get benefited from the projects, the Chief Minister said.

The electricity is the lifeline of development. Electricity like water is very important for everyone, said the Chief Minister while urging the people to use power properly without wasting energy.

He further said that the State Government had started the Odisha Distribution System Strengthening Project at an estimated cost of Rs 3,800 crore to provide quality electricity to the people. More than 430 number of 33/11 KV sub stations have been operationalized under the project. The State Government has earmarked Rs 1,600 crore in the fourth phase of the project to resolve the low-voltage problem in the State, the CM added.
