Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced an increase in the assistance amount for the contingent expenditure of the Krushak Sathis in the State.
The assistance amount has been increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 18,000 per year, as per an official release.
The decision will benefit 13,600 farmers of the state. This increased amount will be applied retrospectively from October 2023.
It is worth noting that the State Government appointed the leading farmers of the state as Krushak Sathis in 2007-2008 to help in agricultural extension work. In each Gram Panchayat, two Krushak Sathis are working to make the farmers aware of various aspects related to development of agriculture.
