Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today lauded the efforts of Kalahandi Collector Dr Parag Harshad Gavali for making ready dedicated Odisha COVID Hospital in short time to further strengthen the State’s fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
The 200-bedded standalone COVID Hospital with six Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds has become functional at Bhawanipatna to treat COVID-19 patients. The hospital has been set up with the support from Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).

Talking about the hospital, the Kalahandi Collector said, “We will be happy if we do not have to admit any cases. Let’s fight Corona with social distancing and personal hygiene”.
The Collector thanked the Chief Minister for approval for the COVID hospital and OMC for funding.
With this, the number of exclusive COVID Hospitals in Odisha now stands at 33 with combined bed capacity of 5476.
