Paralakhemundi: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched the distribution of the Biju Swasthya Kalyana Yojana Smart Health Card in Gajapati district.
During his visit to the district, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stone for a slew of development projects worth Rs 820 crore.
More than 1,34000 beneficiary families will be provided with the Smart Health Cards in the district. The smart card will entitle the beneficiaries’ free treatment at all government hospitals of the state and more than 200 private hospitals of the state and outside. Each family can avail treatment benefits up to Rs 5 lakh per annum under the scheme and in case of women family members, the limit is Rs 10 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Gajapati district is special to him. The contribution of Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati for the formation of separate Odisha State, Naveen said at a function.
The Chief Minister also reiterated his commitment to develop Mahendragiri into a tourist destination in the district.
