Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the Finance portfolio, on Tuesday presented the Supplementary Budget worth Rs 12,156 crore for 2024-25 in the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
Keeping in view the needs & expectations of the people in a welfare State, the Supplementary Budget is aimed at fulfilling the requirement of funds for public welfare and developmental activities in the State mainly through reallocation of available resources and receipt of tied-up resources from various sources, according to a press release issued by the CMO.
What’s New in the Supplementary Budget, 2024-25:
➢ Rs.125 crore for organisation of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar.
➢ Rs.92 crore for Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA).
➢ Rs.142 crore for Constituency Wise Allocation under Minimum Needs Programme.
➢ Rs.299 crore for Deployment of CAPF in the State.
➢ Rs.51 crore for Installation of CCTV Surveillance System in police stations and outposts.
➢ Rs.130 crore for Establishment of Centre of Excellence in 22 it is in collaboration with Tata Technologies Ltd.
➢ Rs.26 crore for facility development of Srimandira Parikrama.
➢ Rs.5 crore for Ratnabhandara of Lord Sri Jagannath Temple.
➢ Rs.60 crore for modernisation and extension of Fire Services.
Provision for Administrative Expenditure:
Total outlay for the Administrative Expenditure is Rs. 1,685 crore.
➢ Rs.15 crore is provided towards conduct of various recruitment examinations.
➢ Rs.13 crore is provided for maintenance of Non-residential Buildings under GA&PG Dept.
➢ Rs.15 crore is provided towards Grants for Kotha Bhoga Dana Yojana.
➢ Rs.12 crore is provided towards Grants For compensation to Daitapatis due to non-climbing of chariots by pilgrims.
➢ Rs.5 crore is provided towards grants for payment of remuneration to the staff of Temple Administration.
➢ Rs.6 crore is provided for construction of building of Odisha Legislative Assembly.
➢ Rs.20 crore is provided towards remuneration of Guest Faculty in Secondary Schools of the state.
➢ Rs.13 crore is provided as Grants to Board of Secondary Education, Odisha
➢ Rs.15 crore is provided towards medicine under Employees State Insurance Scheme.
➢ Rs.20 crore is provided towards Grants to Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation (OLIC).
➢ Rs.37 crore is provided towards Grants for Government General Colleges & Rs.17 crore is provided towards Grants for Government Training Colleges, under Higher Education Department.
➢ Rs.27 crore is provided towards Grants for Universities under Higher Education
Department, out of which Rs.5 crore for Berhampur University, Rs.13 crore for Utkal University and Rs.9 crore for Ravenshaw University.
Disaster Risk Mitigation:
➢ Total of Rs. 120 crore is provided towards Disaster Risk Mitigation in the
Supplementary Statement of Expenditure, 2024-25 for modernisation and extension of Fire Services.
Transfers from State:
➢ Total of Rs. 196 crore is provided towards Transfer to PRIs as per SFC Award in the Supplementary Statement of Expenditure, 2024-25.

Farmers’ welfare & food security:
➢ Rs.59 crore is provisioned for Food Storage & Warehousing under Procurement Operation Support Scheme.
➢ Rs.6 crore is provisioned for Village wise plot level analysis of Paddy Crop growing areas for Kharif.
➢ Rs.91 crore is provisioned for White Revolution – Rashtriya Pashudhan Vikash Yojana
➢ Rs.10 crore is provisioned for Warehousing Infrastructure Fund.
➢ Rs.80 crore is provisioned for Revival & Renovation of defunct Lift Irrigation Projects through OLIC.
➢ Rs.130 crore is provisioned for sustainable Harnessing of ground water in water deficit areas.
➢ Rs.66 crore is provided for Flood Control & Drainage.
