Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today reviewed the programmes of ST & SC Development Department at Lok Seva Bhawan.
The Chief Minister gave some important instructions for the overall development of Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste children.
The Chief Minister laid emphasis on improving the quality of food for children in the hostels run by the department. Along with this, the Chief Minister also suggested giving utmost importance to health, safety and cleanliness.
The Chief Minister has insisted ministers and secretaries to visit schools and hostels regularly and check their management.
It is known from the discussion of the meeting that the approval has been given to upgrade 14 high schools under the department into higher secondary schools in the state. The Chief Minister directed that at least 10 high schools should be upgraded into higher secondary schools this year. Further, the Chief Minister said there is a need to upgrade more high schools to reduce the drop-out rate.
Departmental Minister Nityananda Gond, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
