Bhubaneswar: In a significant decision that will benefit lakhs of workers of the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced hike in the minimum wages of different categories of labourers. According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office, the State Government today hiked the minimum wages of four categories of workers – Unskilled, Semi-Skilled, Skilled and Highly Skilled Labourers.
While the minimum wages of unskilled labourers has been hiked from Rs 352 to Rs 450, the wages of Semi Skilled labourers has been hiked from Rs 392 to Rs 500. Likewise, the wages of Skilled labourers has been hiked from Rs 442 to Rs 550. The Highly Skilled labourers’ minimum wages has also been hiked from Rs 502 to Rs 600.
