CM Naveen Congratulates Team India on Reaching Final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday congratulated the Indian Men’s cricket team on reaching the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with spectacular victory over New Zealand in the semi-final match.

Lauding the spectacular bowling performance of Mohammed Shami, the CM expressed that the record-breaking 7-wicket haul by Mohammed Shami guided the Men in Blue to continue their invincible run in the tournament.
The Chief Minister also conveyed his best wishes to the team for the final.

Shami claimed his third five-wicket haul of the tournament in a brilliant 7-57 as India overcame a valiant century by Daryl Mitchell (134) to defeat New Zealand by 70 runs and storm into the final.

Shami, who came into the team after Hardik Pandya was injured and claimed 5-54 against New Zealand at Dharamsala and then picked 5-18 against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium, struck when India needed the most as he bagged 7-57 in 9.5 overs.
