Keonjhar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the Dharanidhar Medical College and Hospital in Keonjhar. The state of the art Medical College and Hospital has been built at a cost of Rs 381 Crore. With the inauguration of the MCH, a new chapter has been added to Medical Education in Odisha. Also, the people of Keonjhar and nearby areas will get immensely benefitted with advanced healthcare facilities. The Medical College and Hospital has been completed under the 5T Initiatives of the Government of Odisha.
Built over an area of 44 acres land, the Dharanidhar Medical College has 100 MBBS seats with 22 teaching departments. Another important aspect of the Medical College is that, out of the 100 students admitted in the MCH this year, 39 are from the state government schools in Odisha. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also interacted with the student during the inaugural ceremony.
CM Naveen also inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 259 developmental projects of Keonjhar worth Rs 4700 crore during his visit to Keonjhar today. He also distributed interest free loans to 14,372 SHG groups amounting to Rs 378 crore. It will benefit about 1,58,655 SHG members of the district.
