CM Naveen Patnaik Approves Setting Up Of Three Units of Striking Fire Forces In State

Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the modern day requirements and to make the Fire Services more effective, the Government of Odisha has decided to set up three new advanced Striking Fire Forces units in the state. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the proposal in this regard. The Striking Fire Force Units will be placed at the three Range Headquarters at Cuttack, Sambalpur and Berhampur. The Chief Minister has also sanctioned the creation of 144 new posts for these units. These new posts will include Assistant Fire Officers, Station Officers, Assistant Station Officers, Habildar Major, Driver Habildar, Habildar Mechanic, Leading Firemen, Fireman Driver, And Firemen.

Odisha Fire Services has been working as the first responder during all types of natural and manmade disasters and accidents and serving the people of Odisha. It has also taken an important role in the various relief and rescue operations in Odisha. Even, it is providing exceptional services outside the state during natural calamities.

In order to quickly deploy the Fire Services teams, an efficient and well equipped striking force was needed. These forces will be developed into efficient and highly skilled teams equipped with modern and advanced equipments.
