Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has offered condolences on the loss of lives in the deadly earthquake in Morocco. Taking to social media platform X, Naveen wrote “Deeply saddened to learn about the loss of thousands of precious lives in the devastating earthquake in Morocco. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. Wishing speedy recovery of those who are injured.”
More than 2000 people died and about 2000 people injured seriously when a 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit Marrakesh in Morocco on Friday. The heaviest casualties have been reported in provinces just south of Marrakesh. The Government has declared three days of national mourning. The epicentre of the earthquake was in the High Atlas Mountains.
