Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has handed over his resignation to Governor Raghubar Das at the Raj Bhavan. He went to the Raj Bhawan and handed over his resignation to the Governor. Naveen Patnaik served as the Chief Minister of Odisha for a record 24 years and took Odisha to new heights in all round development.
The Biju Janata Dal lost the majority in the recently held elections and the party could garner just 51 seats out of the 147 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party has bagged 78 seats and is all set to form the new government in Odisha.
Yesterday, the Chief Minister had congratulated all the winning candidates irrespective of their party affiliations in the General and Assembly elections in Odisha. Naveen also expressed his gratitude for the dedicated efforts and sacrifices of the workers and leaders of the Biju Janata Dal. “My best wishes to all the winning candidates irrespective of their party affiliations. I express my respect and gratitude to all the workers and leaders of Biju Janata Dal for their dedicated efforts and sacrifice”, the CM wrote in his social media post.
