Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday sanctioned Rs 20 crore to the State Aahaar Society.
The funds have been sanctioned from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the state level Aahaar Committee formed to manage Aahaar Kendras in different parts of the State.
It is worth noting that from 2015-16 to 2021-22, Rs. 228.76 crore has been sanctioned from the CMRF for the Aahaar programme, which is a very popular programme in Odisha.
Poor people who go to hospitals, bus stands and other crowded places in cities for urgent work can get healthy food for just Rs 5 under the programme.
