Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the new Saheed Rendo Majhi Medical College at Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi today in the presence of Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Kalahandi at 11 AM and inaugurate the new Medical college. The new Medcal College has been built with an expenditure of more than Rs 300 crore. The National Medical Commission has given permission for admission of 100 MBBS students for the 2023-24 academic session of the new Medical College. The day also marks the foundation day of Kalahandi District.
During the visit, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will flag off the LAccMI Bus service in the district. A fleet of 63 ultra modern Laxmi buses will provide modern connectivity between rural areas and urban areas of the district. Naveen is also scheduled to inaugurate the Bhawanipatna Bus Terminal and launch and lay foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs 1200 crore.
