Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will visit Steel City Rourkela today and inaugurate the world’s most modern and biggest hockey stadium – the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium that has been built with a cost of nearly Rs 150 crore. Along with the stadium , the chief Minister is slated to inaugurate a slew of beautification and development projects of Rourkela and Sundargarh district.
Naveen is slated to inaugurate the new Mo Bus service for Rourkela, the 100 bedded Medical College Building of Sundargarh. Naveen is scheduled to arrive at Rourkela Airport at 12:15 pm today and leave for Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium. There, he will inaugurate the 225-room five star accommodation facility built for the World Cup Hockey Players and staff. Naveen will also interact with the members of the Indian Hockey Team there. After lunch, the Chief Minister will digitally launch various projects worth Rs. 1100 crores for Sundargarh district at a meeting to be held near the DAV Pokhari in Rourkela. Chief Minister will inaugurate the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium at 4:25 PM.
Along with the Hockey Stadium, Naveen will inaugurate the Basanti Colony DAV Water Park built at a cost of Rs 12 crore, multi level car parking facility, beautification works on the ring road from Hanuman Vatika to RSP square taken up with a cost of Rs 18 Crore, beautification works at the Vedavyasa temple taken up at a cost of Rs 16 crore and other projects.
The Chief Minister will also inaugurate 17 Block Level Hockey Turfs, Sensory Park near Traffic Square, Raghunathpalli Vending Zone, Panposh NAC Market and the development of the Hockey Square.
