CM Sanctions Rs 15.58 Cr for Transformation of Panchalingeswar Temple in Balasore Dist

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday sanctioned Rs 15.58 crore for the transformation of famous Panchalingeswar Temple in Balasore district.

Panchalingeswar Temple, one of the famous Shiv Peethas, will be transformed under the 5T initiatives of the State Government.

It is worth noting that on June 22, on the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian had visited Panchalingeswar Temple and held discussions with temple committee members, local people and officials regarding beautification of the temple. He directed the District Collector to prepare a report and submit it.

As per the master plan for the transformation of the temple, the entire project will be developed divided into 4 zones. These 4 zones are – Badamba Temple, Panchalingeswar Temple and Waterfall Area, Shopping Complex and Park and Panthasala Area.

Zone-1 Badamba temple will be developed with stone steps, benches, watch towers, seating areas, granite walkways etc. for the devotees. Panchalingeswar Temple and waterfall area will be developed in zone-2. Along with the redevelopment of the base area of the entire temple, the entrance to the cave and altar hall will be constructed. The place of worship will be enlarged and beautified. Apart from this, additional toilets and changing rooms will also be constructed. A shopping complex will be built in Zone-III and parks and other facilities will be developed for devotees and tourists. In the zone-4 Panthasala area, parking and pindi for picnics will also be arranged. Facilities for food court, water sports and children’s games will be provided here.

Panchalingeswar Temple is a famous religious tourist destination of the state. The pleasant surroundings of forests, hills, waterfalls etc. make the temple premises more attractive. Every day hundreds of tourists from different places come to this shrine to get spiritual and mental peace. The development of this temple will play a vital role in attracting more tourists.
