Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) unit of SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack on August 15.
The critical patients who are in need of ECMO treatment can get the service free of cost at the SCB MCH.
Four ECMO machines have arrived at the SCB on Thursday.
With this, the premier state-run hospital has received all the nine ECMO machines sanctioned by the Odisha Government.
The State Government had earlier promised to provide 9 ECMO machines to the SCB MCH.
Meanwhile, two doctors, perfusionists , staff nurses and technicians have been sent to Kolkata for training on ECMO machine, according to reports.
