Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has issued traffic restrictions for heavy vehicles plying through the capital city in order to ensure safety and convenience for the public during the Durga Puja festival.
In a notification, the Commissionerate Police said that that no heavy vehicles shall be allowed to ply on the following roads between 4 PM and 2 AM between Oct 4 to 8.
The traffic restrictions are:
1.From Khandagiri Square to Pokhariput Chhak and vice-versa.
2.From Fire Training School Square to Sishu Bhawan Square and vice-versa. This road includes Paika Nagar, Siripur and Ganganagar.
3.From CRP crossing to Power House Square and vice-versa.
4.Jayadev Vihar Square to Raj Bhawan Square and vice-versa. This route includes Behera Sahi and Sastri Nagar.
5.Jayadev Vihar Square to Nadankanan Square and vice-versa.
6.Acharya Vihar Square to New Airport Square and vice-versa.
7.Acharya Vihar to Kalinga Hospital and vice-versa.
8.Vanivihar Square to Sishu Bhawan Square and vice-versa. This road included Rupali, Satya Nagar, Ram Mandir, Master Canteen and Rajmahal.
9.Rasulgarh Square to Lingipur Square and vice-versa.
10.Side service road from Baramunda to Palasuni.
11.The heavy vehicles coming from Khurda to Balikuda will go via Chandaka and Baranga.
12.On the day of Ravan Podi, the entire vehicular traffic on NH-16 from Cuttack side will be diverted from Jayadev Vihar to CRP Square via Behera Sahi, Sastri Nagar, Power House and Unit-8 DAV crossing.
Violation of the order is punishable under Section 96 of Odisha Urban Police Act-2003 with a minimum fine of Rs 500, which may extend up to Rs 1,000 per offence.
