Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday stated the Sahabhagita initiative to prevent crimes in Bhubaneswar.
The initiative was launched in Cuttack city in July 2022 by the Cuttack Urban Police Department. Now, more than 600 community (private) CCTV cameras are part of this initiative helping the police to keep an eye on the city and reduce crime.
The Commissionerate Police has decided to extend the initiative to Bhubaneswar, informed Commissioner of Police Saumyendra Kumar Priyadarsi.
He said that CCTV plays a very crucial role in city surveillance, crime prevention & detection, and traffic management.
