New Delhi: Only 2.7% of the total COVID-19 active cases in India are on oxygen support, informed a senior Health Ministry official.
Currently, the total number of active corona cases in the country is 7,04,348. Of them, only 2.7% are on oxygen support, 1.92% patients are in ICU and 0.29% patients are on ventilator support, said Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Union Health Ministry.
The recovery rate of patients continues its upward trend and has reached around 76 per cent, he said while adding that the mortality rate in the country stands at 1.58% which is one of the lowest in the world.
India has added 60,975 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of corona infections to 3,167,323.
The death toll due to COVID-19 soared to 58,390 in the country, said the Union Health Ministry earlier today.
