COVID-19: AIIMS, New Delhi to Close Down OPD from March 24

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has decided to shut down OPD, including speciality services, all new and follow up patients’ registration from March 24 till further orders.

“It has now been decided that all OPD services including speciality services, all new and follow up patients’ registration in AIIMS hospital and all centres will remain closed from March 24 till further orders,” the premier institute said in a circular.

Earlier, the AIIMS had decided to suspend the routine walk-in OPD registration of patients temporarily from March 23 as the premier institute redirects its resources to control the Coronavirus outbreak.

The AIIMS had already postponed all nonessential elective procedures and surgeries and directed for only emergency life-saving surgeries with effect from March 21.

On Sunday, The Central Government announced to impose complete lockdown in 75 districts across the country where novel coronavirus cases have been reported so far.
