Jajpur: In a bid to prevent community transmission of COVID-19 following Brahmabarada case, Jajpur district administration on Saturday imposed shutdown on Jajpur, Vyasanagar, Chandikhol, Panikoili, Neulapur, Sadhabpur and all block headquarters of district for 48 hours from 8 pm tonight to 8 pm of April 6.
The administration has already sealed Brahmabarada, which has reported a COVID-19 positive case on Friday night. The patient was stated to be a participant of the religious congregation at Tabligh-e-Jamaat’s Markaz in Nizamuddin in Delhi.
Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das said that so far 13 persons have been traced who have come in contact with the patient and their samples have been sent for test.
Earlier in the day, the Puri district administration declared Danagohir village in Pipili block as a containment zone and sealed the entire area after a man tested positive for the disease.
