Bhubaneswar: In a major boost in its ongoing fight against coronavirus, Odisha has achieved the milestone of administrating plasma to over 1000 patients.
This has been informed by the Health and Family Welfare Department.
“It’s an admirable achievement for the entire team of Plasma Therapy to cross the milestone of administering Plasma to over 1000 patients” the Department said.
Plasma has been made available to any patient in need – both in government or private Covid healthcare facility, it added.
The Health Department also thanked the plasma donors who have a big role in this achievement.

Odisha has secured a prominent place not only in India but also in the whole world in the successful treatment of Covid patients through plasma therapy.
Due to the high success rate of plasma treatment, the Odisha Government has been ramping up plasma therapy facilities in the State.
Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated the State’s sixth Plasma Bank at the Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College and Hospital in Koraput.
The five other plasma facilities include SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur, VSS Medical College, Burla and Ispat General Hospital, Rourkela.
