Bhubaneswar: In order to check hoarding and black marketing of medicines and other medical supplies essential for treatment and prevention of COVID-19, the Odisha Government has formed a state-level committee.
Additional DGP, CID, CB has been appointed as the chairman of the committee, which will supervise the district wise availability of essential medical supplies and ensure that officers are taking steps to prevent hoarding and black-marketing, the Home Department said.
The district authorities will monitor the availability of essential medical supplies and take corrective actions.
“In the wake of recent resurgence of Covid-19 in Odisha, it has come to notice that medicines and other medical supplies essential for treatment and prevention of Covid-19 are being hoarded and black marketed by some unscrupulous elements. To prevent such hoarding and black marketing of essential supplies and to deal with Covid-19, State Government constitutes a State Level Committee”, the Department said in a statement.
