Puri: In a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has asked the COVID-19 positive servitors not to enter the premises of Srimandir for 17 days.
The SJTA has also imposed several restrictions on the servitors in view of rising cases of COVID-19 in Puri.
As per the decision of the temple administration, the servitors testing positive for COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter into the temple premises for 17 days and have been asked to remain in isolation, stated SJTA administrator (development) Ajay Kumar Jena.
Strong action will be initiated in case of violation violators, he added.
Besides, the servitors will be penalized for spitting pan and gutkha on the temple premises, the SJTA said.
More than 400 servitors of Srimandir have reportedly tested positive for the virus.
