Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has intensified Covid-19 screening in view of the rising number of cases in other states such as Maharashtra and Kerala. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has set up two screening desks at the Biju Patnaik International Airport.
Sample of a Maharastra returnee has been found positive and sent to the Institute of Life Sciences for genome sequencing. Another person who was found positive for Covid-19 has been kept under isolation. Passengers found with covid like symptoms are being subjected to test.
Speaking on the issue, BMC Commissioner Premchandra Choudhury has said that travelers especially coming from Kerala and Maharashtra are subjected to screening.
