Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 situation is under complete control in Odisha. However, as number of infections in urban areas are rising, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra today emphasized on vaccination, alertness, awareness and disseminating of accurate information for the proper management of the situation.
Chairing a high level meeting to take stock of the COVID-19 situation in the State, the Chef Secretary said that free booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines for the 18-59 age group will be provided from tomorrow.
He urged the district administrations to start the vaccination drive in colleges and higher education institutions across the State.
The Chief Secretary also directed the officials to increase COVID-19 testing, make the call center operational on 24×7 basis, intensify public awareness programmes.
He also instructed the administrations to intensify the enforcement activities such as wearing of masks, avoiding the crowd, and maintaining physical distance.
