New Delhi: India reported its highest single day spike of 20, 903 new positive cases of COVID-19 the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry data.
With this, India’s coronavirus tally touched 6,25,544 amid a gradual relaxation of the lockdown restrictions imposed since March.
The death toll rose to 18,213, as per the latest data from the Union Health Ministry shows.
As many as 3,79,892 patients have recovered so far. There are 2,27,439 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country.
Ten states – Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka – account nearly 90 per cent of the total corona infections in the country.
