Bhubaneswar: The first consignment of COVID vaccine arrived in Odisha on Tuesday, according to reports.
The first batches of Covishield, the Serum Institute of India’s coronavirus vaccine, arrived in a special flight to Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar.
The Odisha Government has already identified 160 Session Sites for the vaccination programme. Out of which, two sites at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar and District Head Quarter Hospital, Sundargarh have been identified for the 2-ways video conferencing.
The districts have been instructed to be in readiness with all preparations for launching of COVID 19 vaccination programme.
The details of date of arrival of COVID-19 vaccine and the quantity of vaccines to be allotted to Odisha is yet to be intimated by Ministry of Health, the State Government.
As many as 3.29 lakh healthcare workers will be vaccinated in Odisha in the first phase.
