New Delhi: The COVID-19 vaccine is expected to be available in India by early next year, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan told the Rajya Sabha today.
“Just like other countries, India is also making efforts. Three vaccines candidates are in different phases. Under Prime Minister’s guidance, an expert group is looking at it and there is advanced planning in place”, the Minister said.
“We are hopeful that by the start of next year a vaccine will be available in India,” the Health Minister informed the Rajya Sabha.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus caseload in the country surged to 51,18,254, with 97,894 new cases on Thursday.
