Berhampur: As part of its COVID Week observance, the Ganjam district administration has decided to create awareness among the students on COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing norms through various activities.
The district admin will be holding different online competitions for the students of both government and private schools.
The competitions, such as painting, essay writing (Odia/English), poem and slogan recital and speech will be organized on COVID-19 related topics for Class I to Class XII students from September 26 to September 29. The winners will be felicitated on Gandhi Jayanti.
Ganjam District Education Officer (DEO) Amulya Padhan wrote a letter to all heads of government and privately managed schools in this regard, urging them to take necessary steps for maximum participation of the students in the competitions.
Notably, the observance of COVID Week began in Ganjam from September 24 with an aim to make people aware of the importance of social distancing norms and COVID-19 protocols.
With the decrease in the number of COVID cases in the district and with a focus to prevent a possible second wave of infection in the district, the Ganjam administration is organizing a series of awareness generating activities during COVID Week involving various stakeholders, said Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
