Kandhamal: The outlawed CPI Maoist rebels have killed one ex-sarpanch Subala Kanhar yesterday night. According to sources, armed Naxals of the KKBN Division stormed into the house of Subal in Saulipada village in under Phiringia police limits and took him away with them. His dead body was found near to his home today morning. The Naxals have reportedly killed him by shooting as he received five rounds of fire. Subal was in the hit list of the Naxals for long time and was living a life of disguise since five years. He had just arrived last night to his home after five years and this incident happened.
Kandhmal Superintendent Subhendu Patra has confirmed the killing and a manhunt has been launched in the area to nab the culprits. Forces have initiated combing operations.
