Cricket Fever Grips State As India and Australia Clash For the World Cup Title

Bhubaneswar: The Super Sunday fight between India and Australia in the ICC World Cup final today has brought maximum excitement among the people of Odisha. Starting from the youngest generations to the elders, all are very excited to watch India lifting the Cup for the third time. With just a few hours remaining for the grand finale, the cricket fever has gripped both rural and urban fans across the state. All preparations have been made by the fans for watching the Final match extravaganza between India and Australia being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

In capital city Bhubaneswar, a number of hotels and Clubs have made elaborate arrangements for the fans to watch the Match on big LED screens. Local youth clubs have put up big screens in play grounds to accommodate more than five hundred people to watch the match together. Some big hotels are offering mouthwatering menu of food and drinks for the fans who are eagerly waiting to watch the final. Friends Club of Unit-9 Bhubaneswar, one of the capital’s oldest youth associations has made arrangements for more than 500 people to watch the match together. A big LED screen has been put up for the purpose. Similarly, arrangements have also been made in Badagada, Nayapalli, Patia and other places. Hotel Presidency, Hotel Empires and Mayfair have also made special arrangements for the cricket fans to make it a memorable one. Along with the scintillating match, fireworks have also been lined up at the clubs.

In Many places, people also performed special pujas in temples for India’s win against Australia. In Berhampur, people offered prayers at the Jagannath temple and wished for team India with photos of the team members in their hands. In Puri, members of the Jagannath Sena offered prayers to Lord Jagannath wishing for India’s win in the world cup.
