Balasore: Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy and 5T Secretary VK Pandian today visited the standalone COVID-19 hospital in Balasore and reviewed various measures taken by the district administration in response to the corona pandemic situation.
The exclusive COVID-19 hospital has been made functional recently. The 120 bedded hospital with ICU facility has been set up by the Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) in collaboration with the State Government. It is managed by the Jyoti Hospital.
During the visit, the Chief Secretary and 5T Secretary reviewed various facilities available at the hospital for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
They also held discussions with Balasore Collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy and other officials regarding various steps taken by the administration to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
They also advised the administration to stress on providing livelihood to the people and scaling up the MGNREGS works so as to engage maximum number of workers.
Earlier today, the Chief Secretary and 5T Secretary visited the COVID hospitals in Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar and reviewed the coronavirus preparedness in these districts.
