Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy and 5T Secretary VK Pandian today visited Kendrapara to review the COVID-19 situation in the district.
During the visit, the senior officials reviewed the COVID-19 hospital arrangements and isolation facilities in the district to combat the deadly virus.
They held discussions with Kendrapara Collector Samarth Verma and other officials about preventive measures taken by the administration to tackle the spread of the coronavirus.
The 5T Secretary also reviewed the works for the setting up a dedicated COVID-19 hospital in the district.
The 100-bedded hospital with ICU facility is likely to be inaugurated on Sunday, informed the Collector.
Sum has taken up to establish the hospital.
Meanwhile, the administration has further stepped up its efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 after the detection of first positive case in the district.
On Tuesday, the administration has sealed as many as 11 villages in Aul area and sent the COVID-19 patient to Ashwini hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
