Cuttack: A laboratory technician in the blood bank at SCB Medical College was arrested for allegedly taking bribe from a person.
The laboratory technician has been identified as Kishore Chandra Swain.
Swain was arrested by the vigilance officials when he was demanding and accepting Rs 5,000 bribe to provide two units of A+ blood from the blood bank, according to reports. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of the accused. In this connection, a case has been registered and further investigation is continuing, the vigilance informed while adding that simultaneous searches have been conducted on the properties of Swain at two places.
