Bhubaneswar: Odisha has received supports from several States as it has intensified relief and restoration work in the wake of unprecedented devastation caused by cyclone Fani.
The States of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat extended helping hands to Odisha in its efforts to rebuild the infrastructure damaged by the summer cyclone.
As per media reports, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced Rs 15 crore financial assistance for cyclone-hit Odisha for the relief works in areas affected by the natural disaster.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami also ordered an immediate contribution of Rs 10 crore from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to the Odisha Government.
Neighbouring state of Chhattisgarh has reportedly contributed Rs 11 crore to Odisha, while Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra provided Rs 10 crore each to the Fani-hit State. Gujarat has offered Rs 5 crore.
Besides financial assistances, the States have also extended manpower and technical support to Odisha for relief and restoration works.
Notably, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has appealed for donations for rebuild the affected districts in the State.
The Odisha Chief Minister took to his Twitter handle and urged to help rebuild precious lives with the online contribution to Chief Minister Relief Fund.
“Odisha has been devastated by cyclone Fani. Please help rebuild precious lives with your online contribution to Chief Minister Relief Fund”, Naveen said.
