Sambalpur: Debrigarh Ecotourism under Hirakud Wildlife Division (Forest Department) has launched AC Safari Vehicles for the visitors to the wildlife sanctuary.
As many as five AC Safari Vehicles will run for the tourists within and outside sanctuary to different places surrounding “Barapahad mountains” and Debrigarh Sanctuary.
Vehicles are specially designed for full day tours with special features for photographers.
Tourists from 18 to 20 different states are coming to Debrigarh every year. 50% tourists are from Odisha itself and rest are from states such as Chhattisgarh and West Bengal.
As of now, nine non-AC Safari Vehicles are functioning at Debrigarh for 120 tourists per trip.
The AC safari vehicles will be useful for facilitating tourists during summer and monsoon seasons to take tourists to nearby important historical places of Bargarh and Sambalpur districts. This will increase tourists to Debrigarh during monsoon and summer too.
The national and international tourists coming to Debrigarh can travel to see other parts of Barapahada mountain range i.e Nrusinghnath and Kedarnath religious places, handloom markets and also Sambalpur Zoo.
