New Delhi: Taking strong action against the controversial remarks made by Union minister Anurag Thakur and BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh, the Election Commission has asked the BJP to remove them for its list of star campaigners for the 2020 Delhi assembly election.
“Election Commission has ordered the removal of Sh. Anurag Thakur and Sh. Parvesh Sahib Singh from the list of star campaigners of Bhartiya Janta Party for the general elections to the Legislative Assembly of the NCT of Delhi with immediate effect and until further orders”, a statement issued by Commission reads.
The action against the two leaders comes days after they made controversial statements in their public addresses during election campaign in Delhi.
