Puri: The devotees on Tuesday witnessed the rare Gajanana Besha or Hati Besha of Lord Jagannath on the auspicious occasion of Devasnana Purnima at Srimandir in the pilgrim city of Puri.
The devotees got the opportunity to witness this rare attire of Lord Jagannath after the gap of two years.
Soon after the holy bathing ritual on the ceremonial holy bathing altar, the deities gave ‘darshan’ of ‘Gaja or Hati Besha’ to the devotees.
Devotees in a large came to the pilgrim city to have a glimpse of the rare and mesmerizing ‘Hati Besha’ of Holy Trinity along with Lord Sudarshan on the ‘Snana Mandap’ or holy bathing altar at Srimandir.
The annual bathing rituals of the deities were carried out in Puri amid a large number of devotees.
The ritual marks the beginning of the annual world-famous Rath Yatra festival.
The servitors bathed the deities with 108 pitchers of water drawn from a well at Srimandir premises.
