DGP Reviews Anti-Naxal Operations in Kandhamal Dist 

Phulabani: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Sunil Kumar Bansal today reviewed the anti-Naxal operations in Kandhamal district with top officials of BSF and State Police.

The DGP said, “Naxal violence has been reduced. We are taking every step. More than 16 camps of Boarder Security Force and CRPF have been established in Odisha to combat the red rebels”.

Five high power drones are to be deployed in the affected areas shortly, said the DGP while briefing media persons.

Meanwhile the DGP and his team visited a most inaccessible pocket Bhandarangi under Beghar police limit of Kandhamal district and reviewed the situation.

Later DGP has inaugurated the newly built BSF tactical headquarter inside the police Barrack at Phulbani and commended their services.

The BSF IG (Special Operations) D K Sharma, Joint Director of Intelligence Bureau Rajesh Subarno, Odisha Director Intelligence Sanjeeb Panda, ADG(Operations) Amitabh Thakur, IG Satyabrata Bhoi, SP Kandhamal Suvendu Kumar Patra,, 99 Battalion Commandant Sanjib Kumar attended the review meeting.
