1035 Liters Liquors Seized, 83 Excise Cases Registered & 164 Pending Warrants Executed So Far
Cuttack: Odisha DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal today reviewed the preparedness for the ensuing Dhamnagar by-election in Bhadrak district.
The DGP held discussions about poll preparedness with Director Intelligence Sanjeeb Panda, Addl. DG of Police (Law & Order) R.K. Sharma, IGP (Hdqrs), IGP (Personnel), IGP (Eastern Range), DIGP (Intelligence) and SP, Bhadrak District through video conferencing.
The DGP emphasized on the free, fair transparent, impartial and incident free by-election.
He stressed on strict enforcement of model code of conduct and adherence to the ECI guidelines for Police arrangements and security arrangements, including visits of VIPs and VVIPs.
He further emphasized on intensifying prophylactic measures including bounding down the criminals, seizure of illegal arms and illicit liquor and execution of NBWs.
ADGP, Law and Order R.K. Sharma reviewed the overall deployment plan and emphasized on enhancing the work of mobile squads and flying squads and thorough checking by setting up Nakas around the constituency.
Director Intelligence Sanjeeb Panda shared the intelligence connected with the by-election and urged the IGP and SP to closely monitor the law and order situation.
As many as four companies of CAPF, 20 platoons of State OSAP/ APR, 46 mobile patrolling parties, 03 flying squads, 03 SST along with district police officers will be deployed for smooth conduct of the elections.
Police have seized 1035 Liters liquors, registered 83 excise cases and executed 164 pending warrants during the by-election process so far.
Adequate security arrangements have also been made in strong room with CCTV coverage to ensure round the clock safety of EVMs. The election will be conducted with strict enforcement of ECI guidelines.
The election will be held on November 3.
