Dreaded Criminals Injured In Encounter

Bhubaneswar: In a major achievement to the Commissionerate police, two dreaded criminals have been arrested after being injured in an encounter. The incident took place near Bainchua in the outskirts of the capital, when the duo along with two others, were planning for a robbery.

Acting on a tip off on the presence of the criminals, the special squad of Commissionerate Police along with Saheed Nagar Police swung into action near Balianta police limits late in the night yesterday.

The arrested criminals have been identified as Arun Mallick and Vivekananda Nayak. As the cops tried to nab them in the spot, the criminals opened fire in a bid to escape but got hurt in retaliation. Arun and Vivekanand have received bullet injuries on their legs and have been admitted to the Capital Hospital for treatment.

It seems that the twin cities Commissionerate Police is on a mission mode and started work in the direction of cleansing the city of crime. After a series of incidents such as loot and armed robberies, the police have started operations to nab the criminals.

The Commissionerate Police had formed a special squad and intensified night patrolling after two major incidents of armed dacoity and robbery took place last week.
