Chatrapur: A one-day orientation program of the District Resources Group (DRG) on implementation of Pre-vocational Education programme was held here on Friday.
The Pre-Vocational Education Programme will be implemented for the students of classes VI – VIII studying in both government and government-aided schools.
The objective of the programme is to introduce the students to the world of work and to prepare them for entry into Vocational Education Programme.
In total, 47 schools of Ganjam district have been selected where the Pre-vocational Education Programme under Samagra Shiksha and Strengthening Teaching Learning and Results For state – STARS will be implemented.
The teachers attending the orientation programme will facilitate the school level activities in the school which are scheduled to be held from 27th March.
As part of the school level activities, industry visits, talks and seminars and workshops by local artisans will be held.
The DRG orientation programme was inaugurated by Binita Senapati, DEO-cum-DPC, SS Ganjam in presence of Madhusudan Parida, FC, SS, Ganjam; Tapan Kumar Sahoo, IEC, SS, Ganjam; Sabitirbala Dash, Planning Co-ordinator, SS Ganjam; Dr. Saroj Mohan Palo, Dist- SC/ST Co-ordinator, SS Ganjam and Dr. Santosh Kumar Panda, Dist. Pedagogy Co-ordinator, SS Ganjam.
