Bhubaneswar: The formal Gazette Notification has been issued by the Election Commission of India today for the upcoming by-polls to Jharsuguda assembly constituency. As per the Gazette notification, nomination papers filing will begin today and can be submitted to the returning officer till April 20th. The voting is scheduled to be held on May 10th and counting of votes will be done on May 13th. Election to the Jharsuguda Constituency was necessitated due to the demise of MLA Naba Kishore Das.
While the Biju Janata Dal has fielded Naba Das’s daughter Dipali Das as its candidate, the Congress has fielded Tarun Pandey, son of former MLA Birendra Pandey. The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Tankadhara Tripathy as its candidate.
