Bhubaneswar: The elections for the three Rajya Sabha seats from Odisha will be held on the 27th of February. The Election Commission of India has notified the dates for this today. According to the notification, the elections will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on 27th February while the counting of votes will be conducted on the same day at 5 PM.
While the tenure of senior BJD leaders Amar Patnaik and Prasant Nanda ends this April, the other seat belongs to BJP MP Ashwini Vaishnaw. According to the ECI notification, the term of office of 56 members of the Council of States elected from the 15 states is due to expire on their retirement in April this year. The biennial elections to the Council of States will be held as per the below given schedule:
